Rising Swedish pop artist Ellen Krauss releases her brand new single ‘Let Me Have it’ on November 1st through Tiller Inc. licensed to BMG Recorded Music. An empowering track about standing up to your oppressors and your inner demons, it yet again showcases this incredibly exciting young artist’s burgeoning talent and is taken from her debut EP ‘First Take’ which will be released on November 22nd.
Speaking about ‘Let Me Have It’ Ellen says, "This track came to life when I was playing around on my new electric guitar. I remember I fell in love with the sharp sound of it and at the time I was in that ”Let Me Have It”-state of mind, where you’re just like, okay give it to me… Whether it’s about jealousy, talking shit or false accusations. Things that are just unfair.”
‘Let Me Have It’ follows on from the recent release of Ellen’s single ‘Criminal To Love’ - a song about the destructiveness of certain relationships, personified. Ellen Kraus brings a depth of understanding to the subject far beyond her 19 years. Watch the cinematic video to accompany the single, directed by Val Vega - HERE
‘Let Me Have It’ and ‘Criminal To Love’ will feature on Ellen Krauss’ five-track debut EP ‘First Take’ alongside previous singles ‘On The Bus’ and ‘The One I Love’ as well as another brand new song ‘The Wedding’. ‘First Take EP’ is out November 22nd.
With her self-taught talent and captivating way of delivering norm-challenging messages, the outspoken 19-year-old pop promise is a fresh example of the young DIY generation, this also shows in her choice to work parallel with an Indie label in Sweden and a major label in the US.
Before releasing any music, Ellen received praise from music icons Carly Rae Jepsen, Max Martin, and Laleh when she was awarded Rookie Artist of the Year at the Denniz Pop Awards in Sweden. Her debut single and LGBTQ acceptance anthem, ‘The One I Love,’ has already racked up over four million total global streams since its release in April and was added to over 1,500 playlists so far, including Spotify’s New Music Friday (Sweden).
Since the age of four, Ellen has been one with the guitar and spent the majority of her youth secretly writing songs in her room at home in Stockholm, or in South Africa where her family occasionally lived, drawing inspiration from diverse artists such as Ed Sheeran, King Princess, Dire Straits, and Bruce Springsteen. She is a playful, charismatic, and emotional storyteller who uses her songwriting to challenge the norms that today’s youth is fighting. She is outspoken about LGBTQ equality, women’s rights, and pushes back against the traditional social structures that a young girl should fit into.
She made her U.S. live debut recently in Los Angeles at the Hotel Café. This summer Ellen opened up for Laleh reaching over 5,000 people and also performed at Way Out West! Keep up with Ellen on her socials for more music, touring updates, and additional exciting news to be announced.
