Following on from the release of debut EP ‘Conversations’ early last year, London-based singer-songwriter Ella Jinks makes her eagerly-awaited return to deliver her heartfelt new single “Maybe In Another Life”, which she created with collaborator Matt Ingram (Florence + The Machine, Laura Marling).

Marking her first piece of new material this year, “Maybe In Another Life” sees her confidently return to that warm and wistful approach she first arrived with. With its rich and tender textures elevating her breathtaking vocal performance throughout, she continues to shine as one of the more captivating names on the rise right now.

Adding about the release, she said, “‘Maybe in Another Life’ is a song that explores the difficulty of coming to terms with endings and how we can often lose ourselves in imaginary scenarios where things may have worked out differently but it’s only a distraction from the reality of having to let go.”

There is a dichotomy at the heart of 24-year-old Ella Jinks that makes her a fascinating artistic proposition. Her voice is utterly distinctive: a rich, sonorous vocal which conveys emotional resonance in a style that can only come from someone with a wealth of life experience behind her.

Her songwriting is just as classic, her bluesy, soulful indie-folk singer-songwriter style possessing a timelessness which echoes influences such as Laura Marling, Joni Mitchell and Lianne La Havas. And yet for all of her older soul, Ella’s lyrics tap into the eternal themes of young adulthood - discovering who you are, accepting your strengths, weaknesses and foibles, and learning to grow.

Her ‘Conversations’ EP was largely a DIY introduction which established a first wave of interest and led to a debut headline show at Aces and Eight in 2023.
