Following their recent single “Prague”, which has become a fan favourite amongst fellow artists Teddy Swims, Cian Ducrot, and Bastille, Scottish singer-songwriter and recent IVORS’ Rising Star nominee and Amazon Step Up Fund awardee Blair Davie (they/them) has now returned to deliver their liberating new offering “Coming Of Age”.
Produced by Thom Lewis (who’s produced Sam Fender’s entire catalogue of acclaimed releases), “Coming Of Age” continues that rich and spirited indie-pop aesthetic Davie has found a kinship with lately. Adopting a bright and euphoric energy as it plays, their newest endeavour builds upon the illustrious foundations and acclaim they have been receiving so far this year.
Speaking about the new offering, they said, "I was lucky enough to spend a couple days back in June, writing with Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Jamie Squire and Derrick Southerland. I think we had written 3 or 4 songs together already over those 2 days, most of them were ballads. We took a break and went to David’s Deli, an amazing Lebanese place for lunch on the corner by the studio. Derrick asked me if I ever write any songs “with tempo” which means a bit on the faster side. I told him that I don’t often do upbeat songs because I worry that the emotion can get lost and so he set us that challenge of writing a song that still hits the heart but can make you dance at the same time. It was an exciting juxtaposition for sure.
"Coincidentally, an idea had come to me the morning before the session, that gave me the same sense of polarity. It was about how growing up, especially those formative teenage years, were some of both the best and worst times of my life equally. It’s a time where you’re so confused, vulnerable and excited all at once. Your friends and you are growing up at different places, exploring, failing, peaking. No one’s got it figured out but no one tells you that.
"We talked about all this over lunch and the song practically fell out of us when we got back into the studio. We pushed ourselves to be bold, honest and bloody with the lyrics but to keep the music feeling exciting and always moving. I definitely felt scared writing it, pushed outside of my comfort zone. I think that’s what makes the song feel so special to me. It feels like a brave next step for me and I can’t wait to share it."
Blair Davie has also been announced as the support act for Benjamin Francis Leftwich’s upcoming UK tour. See below for the full list of dates with Davie below.

After introducing themselves with a flurry of exciting singles, including the highly-praised ‘Stairs’, ‘Platform 10’, and ‘Him, Hymn’, and more recently their intimate ‘Piano Sessions’, 23yo London-based Scottish born and raised singer-songwriter Blair Davie has been tipped as one of the most anticipated new artists on the rise right now. As a seasoned performer who has been writing music and fronting bands since they were a teenager, Blair’s rise can be pinpointed to the strength of their songwriting, which feels more honest than others in their field.
Blair has amassed 32K followers (across Instagram and TikTok), been officially playlisted on Spotify, toured the UK and Europe with the likes of JP Cooper, Emile Sande, Sam Fischer and Fatherson, played Great Escape, Live at Leeds, Belladrum and Sziget festivals, was the face of Zermatt Unplugged festival (sold out show), and sold out both London Laylow and recently London Slaughtered Lamb.
2025 looks to be an incredibly exciting year for Blair Davie.
