DORK MAGAZINE

Following on from the release of his hypnotic comeback single ‘Running’ earlier this year, which has since been premiered on Chris Hawkins BBC 6Music show, featured on BBC Radio 6 Music ‘New Music Fix’, plays on Jess Izsatt's BBC Introducing show and an interview with Robert Elms on BBC Radio London, not to mention media support from The Line of Best Fit, DIY Mag, NOTION, Wonderland, Record of the Day and Wordplay Mag, VC Pines now continues his vibrant start to 2023 with the mesmerising new offering ‘Dangling’.

Co-written and co-produced alongside Hoost, ‘Dangling’ sees VC Pines offer up more of that rich and dynamic sound he is quickly earning a strong reputation for. With his warm and woozy demeanor layered across a broad and innovative production from start to finish, his latest cut continues his pursuit for fresh and vivid imagery throughout.

Speaking about ‘Dangling’, VC Pines said, “Dangling is a culmination of bad habits, late nights and broken relationships. BUT. The fact that these are exacerbated by things that are all in your head. I was put on lamotrigine after my epilepsy diagnosis and my moods would swing like Newton's cradle. I thought that people were thinking things or saying things or that they were acting a certain way towards me due to reasons I’d made up in my head and eventually this tore down some strong relationships I had. Late nights and alcohol didn’t fix anything when I thought they would. Really, if I’d just asked questions, things could have been different. So Dangling is a reminder to be open, and not fester in your own assumptions.

“Dangling just fell together in a day, the lyrics came to me on the train from west to east. It’s an exaggerated version of real events.”

Having sold out Camden’s MAP Studio Cafe at the start of the year - it sold out in a matter of hours - and sold out Jazz Cafe in 2022, VC Pines will soon don the infamous Lafayette stage with a number of special guests for his largest headline performance to date. VC Pines has been slowly building a strong audience over the last few years thanks to a flurry of highly-praised releases, and this exclusive live show highlights exactly how much he has grown in such a short space of time.

Tickets for VC Pines @ London’s Lafayette are now on sale HERE, and the full list of support acts will be announced soon.
