After following up her platinum selling debut LP ‘Pearl’ with a flurry of highly-praised singles last year including ‘Shouldn’t I Just Let You Know?’, ‘Tie Me Down’, and ‘This Time Of Year’, Swedish singer-songwriter Ellen Krauss today releases hershimmering new single ‘Hungover (Head In A Can)’.

Continuing her pursuit of warm and tantilising folk-pop aesthetics once again, ‘Hungover (Head In A Can)’ makes for a powerfully warm and embracing introduction to her next full-length release. Capturing more of that sweet and tender emotion she has delivered throughout her career so far, she looks to take us on a captivating ride, brimming with raw and heartfelt textures from start to finish.

Speaking about the new single she explains, “"Hungover” is about missing something or someone. Missing home, missing family, missing a loved one. It could also be your happy place. I wrote the song when I came back from my first ever support tour and I was experiencing a lot separation anxiety. All I wanted to do was be back on the bus with a beer in my hand, playing cards, telling the same jokes over and over again, feeling dead tired but happy, and understood. Touring is lovely in that way. Everyone has their own special thing but we’re all there for the same reason. It’s the best thing ever. ”

Ellen has since played over 80 live shows since she first emerged, supporting the likes of Laleh, Miriam Bryan, Markus Krunegård as well as her first Swedish headline tour in the Autumn of 2021. She is also planning a return to stage with another run of headline shows in 2023.

Ellen Krauss is a playful and emotional storyteller who challenges the norms of this generation and paints an honest picture of young adulthood through her songwriting and performance. She made her proper debut with the 2019 LGBTQ-anthem ‘The One I Love’, gaining huge attention and support straight out of the gate. Following the release came several singles before the release of her critically-praised debut album ‘Pearl’.
