After recently returning to deliver his captivating comeback single ‘The Reason’, his first new offering since last year’s spellbinding debut album ‘Songs That Made Me Feel’, James Vickery is back once again to offer up his sultry Kojey Radical collaboration ‘With U’.

Inspired by the difficult prospective decision to move to America to progress his career, ‘With U’ (with Kojey Radical) unveils another beautifully warm and illustrious offering from one of the UK’s most heartfelt new artists. Mixing his sweet and seductive vocal performance with a driven verse from Mercury Prize 2022 shortlisted artist Kojey Radical gives this new release a wonderfully compelling aesthetic that sees him continue his adventurous approach to the progressive R&B sound.

Speaking about the new offering, he said, “I am fully aware that to succeed in my career I may well have to take the plunge and move stateside, due to my fanbase and the support received from my music. This song is about me having to make that move, but torn about leaving the one closest to me. It’s a constant troubling issue in my life right now so writing it down on a page made the whole situation very therapeutic for me.”

While Kojey Radical added, “James Vickery is a once in a generation type of talent, so when he invited me to be a part of the record I had to jump at the chance I think we’ve created something really really special and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

James Vickery’s debut album ‘Songs That Made Me Feel’ features the Maths Time Joy-produced single ‘Somewhere, Out There’, Musiq Soulchild collaboration ‘Come To Me’, seductive offering ‘Hourglass’, the vibrant ‘You Comfort Me’ ft. EARTHGANG, and SG Lewis-produced gem ‘Finally’. James has since amassed over 100 million streams across his catalogue, most notably his COLORS session for 'Until Morning', which has garnered over 29 million views to date. Supported by BBC Radio 1/1 Xtra, Apple Music, Sirius XM and KCRW, his track 'Pressure Pt II' was voted in the top 10 songs of 2020 by Rolling Stone Magazine. He appeared on Sky News' Kay Burley show last year talking about his debut record and how being deaf in one ear affects his music.

Having headlined London's Lafayette last year and supported Sinead Harnett on her recent UK tour, James Vickery will also be supporting Sabrina Claudio on her UK and European tour dates later this Autumn.

Born and raised in East London, British Ghanaian Kwadwo Adu Genfi Amponsah aka Kojey Radical is often described as a “renaissance man”. At 29 years old, he is at the forefront of a generation of young British artists who have pushed underground Black music into the mainstream over the past few years. Following a series of acclaimed EPs, Kojey Radical finally released his highly anticipated debut album Reason To Smile in March 2022. His most ambitious and complete work to date, Reason To Smile was quickly shortlisted for the 2022 Mercury Prize and is widely regarded as one of the year’s standout records, featuring a roll call of incredible collaborators including Tiana Major9, Masego, Shaé Universe, Cashh, Kelis, Lex Amor, Knucks, Shakka, Wretch 32, Ego Ella May and Rex Life Raj and his own mother (whose voice weaves throughout the record). Kojey Radical embodies everything that makes an artist truly exciting in 2022; he’s an authentic and uncompromising creative force, constantly evolving and blurring boundaries as he moves from rap, funk, spoken word and poetry to fashion, art and film with an almost effortless fluidity.
