Following on from the fervent support for her debut single ‘Black Hole’ earlier this year, which has since racked up more than 100k streams on Spotify and regularly circulating on radio stations across the country, alt-pop artist Siobhán Winifred has returned once again to offer up her heartfelt second single, ‘This House’.

Capturing the heartache that comes with seeing an ex with someone new, ‘This House’ evokes a raw and emotional energy that is quickly becoming synonymous with the artist at the helm. As she swoons her way through this delicate slice of indie pop towards broken relationships and the fallout thereafter, her soul is vulnerably laid out for all to see.

Speaking about the new release, she said, “‘This House’ was written at a time when I was at my most vulnerable. I had it all down in 20 minutes and the vocals on the final version are all from the first take, everything was so raw. The song was written 2 days after a house party that my ex, his new girlfriend and I were all at. The song is about all the conflicting emotions you have when you want someone to be happy but are struggling to watch them move on. I wanted to capture the intense feeling of claustrophobia I had that night. Everybody there knew the situation and it just reached a point where I had to leave. I included sounds of a house party on the track and the production kicks in on the line ‘so I think I better leave’ – it’s about reaching breaking point and desperately needing to escape.”

With a strong Irish heritage, Siobhán Winifred is an emerging alt-pop artist who grew up in the Dorset countryside but now lives in London. Inspired by the music of Rufus Wainwright, Leonard Cohen, Phoebe Bridgers and Alex Turner, Siobhan’s vulnerable lyrics, combined with Brit-indie rock guitars and electronic beats aim for the sweet spot where you could cry and dance to it, all at the same time.

Releasing her debut single, ‘Black Hole’ in June 2022, Siobhán saw early support from Spotify with the track added to New Music Friday, Our Generation, Fresh Finds, Fresh Finds Indie, Fresh Find’s UK & Ireland. The song has also attracted early support from BBC Introducing, 6 Music and Radio 1.
