Seafret release the Seeb Remix of their iconic hit 'Atlantis', out October 28th through Sony Music

Having originally been released back in 2015, Seafret’s stirring breakthrough single ‘Atlantis’ has since been revived in popularity thanks to a viral run on TikTok in recent months, which has seen their monthly Spotify listeners catapult from 5M to 13M. Garnering at its peak over 1.7 million daily streams globally ‘Atlantis’ hit the UK’s Official Charts at #38 in September. Now the pair are looking to capitalise on the track’s newfound appreciation with the Seeb remix for ‘Atlantis’.

While the original harnessed the pair’s warm and heartfelt folk-pop-inspired aesthetic, acclaimed Norwegian producers Seeb have rebranded the song with a fresh and euphoric dance-pop appeal. Adding a bright and soaring atmosphere alongside the pair’s vibrant vocal performance, this new rework perfectly captures the same sweet and alluring majesty within a more commercial guise.

Seafret formed in 2011, after meeting at an open mic night near their hometown of Bridlington. Upon the release of their debut project, Give Me Something, it was clear they were on to something. A year later, in 2015, they released their astounding Oceans EP. Accompanied by a video starring Game of Thrones’s Maisie Williams as a bullied teen, the lead single ‘Oceans’ remains a fan favourite, with over 450M collective streams. It’s easy to understand why. Sedman sings in a grief-stricken cry over lush arrangements of piano, steady percussion and acoustic guitar strums: “You know I'd rather drown/ Than to go on without you/ But you're pulling me down.”

“Our music always has to have something real about it,” Sedman says. He recalls his dad telling him that an audience can always tell when an artist is singing from a perspective that isn’t their own. “People can always recognise real feeling.”

ABOUT SEEB

Seeb is Norwegian EDM production duo, Simen Eriksrud and Espen Berg. Their globe-conquering take on Mike Posner’s ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ hit No.2 on the Global Spotify Chart, No.4 on Billboard Hot 100 and became a world radio and dancefloor smash. Seeb found further fame with their spin on Shawn Mendes’ ‘Stitches’ and by having Chris Martin invite them to remix Coldplay’s ‘Hymn For The Weekend’, before giving a new sense of colour to Taylor Swift’s ‘Delicate’. OneRepublic asked them to collaborate on joint single ‘Rich Love’, and they joined Bastille for the technicolour adventure of ‘Grip’ (which saw them perform together on two sold out nights at London’s Brixton Academy). Further songs with Skylar Grey, Dagny, Highasakite, Julie Bergan, Justin Jesso and Olivia O'Brien amassed them well over 2 billion streams.

In 2020 Seeb went on to release a darker sounding house record "Unfamiliar" with HRVY & Goodboys - this became one of the seminal singles on their Platinum awarded debut LP ‘Sad In Scandinavia’, which was released in 2021 and became one of the global top 100 streaming albums of that year. Nobody ever knows what is around the corner for Seeb but one thing’s for certain, you can look forward to more groundbreaking dance/pop masterpieces ahead and their ‘Atlantis’ (Seeb Remix) is no exception.
