Following on from the release of the much-loved deluxe edition of their breakthrough EP ‘Cowboys & Idiots’ near the end of last year, British hip-hop / grime collective Monster Florence now return to deliver the official video for one of the release’s standout cuts, ‘Handstand’.

Directed by Scribbler, the new visuals for ‘Handstand’ look to realise the metaphorical meaning behind the song’s deep and personal lyrics. Seeing handstands as a reversal of how friendships and relationships should be by literally flipping life upside down, the members deliver their verses from the ceiling, highlighting how distorted their worlds have become and giving us a powerful and emotional video in the process.

Speaking about the video, director Scribbler said, "Monster Florence lament over the severance of family ties. The video attempts to personify this disconnect by having them spectate past moments of misery from the ceiling - Moments that turned their life upside down. 'Handstand' takes us on a journey to closure, eventually bringing life to the idea that we may be products of our past, but we don't have to be prisoners to it."

While the band’s Alex Osiris added, "Scribbler really captured the narrative in the visuals for ‘Handstand’ it feels personal and emotional yet stylistic. Each story although different blends from one another seamlessly taking you on a journey that floats between turmoil and love."

Hailing from Colchester (Essex), the six-member music collective Monster Florence is a band that channels Hip-hop, Punk and UK Grime over hypnotic beats laced with raw lyrics and airtight delivery. Vocalists, Dream Mclean, Wallace Rice & Alex Osiris, have been collaborating since their teens making their mark on the Grime scene with DIY music videos and Tim Westwood cyphers.

Formed after linking with producers and musicians Tom Donovan, Cameron Morrell and Jonny Poole. What was meant to be a one-off festival performance turned into a full-time project due to the undeniable chemistry shared on and off-stage. The addition of in-house production and live instruments allowed them to develop their sound, honing in on an alternative style of hip-hop that is truly unique.

Since spontaneously stepping foot into the game they have pumped out Grimey, Punk-infused Hip-Hop over that past 3 years releasing two EP’s, debut album ‘Foul’ and six singles through their label imprint ‘Gold Bar Records’. They played Glastonbury 2019 and have performed at various other festivals as well as a US tour.

At the beginning of 2020 the band signed a long-term worldwide exclusive deal with Project Melody.
