October 28, 2021 - New York, NY: Today, NYC-native Des Rocs released the official video for “Ruby with the Sharpest Lies” from his critically-acclaimed debut album A Real Good Person In A Real Bad Place, released last month via 300 Entertainment (Megan Thee Stallion, Highly Suspect). Des Rocs is about to wrap his first headline tour, DES ROCS ALIVE, that saw him play iconic venues across the US with special guests The Velveteers. "This piece is an homage to the underworld of New York City,” says Des Rocs. “A city symphony grown in the darkness of a lifetime spent chasing a dream."

The video follows him on a manic journey through the dark corners of New York City. Whether hanging out the window over the Manhattan Bridge or roaming the subway, it’s clear that the rabid hustle and unnerving madness of the city is home to Des Rocs. With its ominous and electric sound, “Ruby with the Sharpest Lies” has become a fan favorite from the album, garnering more than 400,000 streams in less than a month.

A Real Good Person In A Real Bad Place received instant praise from Loudwire (“addictive”) and Consequence of Sound (“infectious and eclectic”), as well as Rolling Stone, SPIN, and Alternative Press (“groundbreaking”). Wonderland Magazine proclaimed “[Des Rocs] combines elements of classic rock with subtle seductive electronica elements....inviting us into his own personal escapism, the artist intricately and candidly brings his darkest traits to light and pours every emotion onto the track.” The album received further acclaim from Guitar World, The Aquarian and American Songwriter; he also took over Tastemade’s Instagram to give a tour of New York by way of his favorite pizza slices.
