With their highly-anticipated debut album ‘Ursa Major’ set to arrive on August 14th via Killing Moon Records, Leeds-based indie-rock heroes Marsicans now continue the support for their forthcoming full-length with the release of its fifth single, ‘These Days’.

Bringing back that same fresh and uplifting direction they have shown throughout the buildup to their upcoming studio release, ‘These Days’ sees the band in high spirits as they gallop through this euphoric and soaring new belter, bringing yet more catchy hooks and sing-along vocals with them as they go.

Speaking about their latest offering, bassist and vocalist Rob Brander said, “‘These Days’ is a song about my relationship with communication in the modern world. Without really realising, I had started using the Internet as a window for almost all my communication and information. I found myself staring at my phone more and more, whether it was to talk to friends, read the news, or even to be creative.

“When I stopped to think about just how reliant we are on these little black screens to communicate with the world around us, it made me feel uncomfortable. It's too easy to add context to a message, which simply isn’t there, because of the lack of body language or inflection that you might get in a person's actual voice. You’re also less inclined to ask questions about information you read on the Internet, just because it’s on the Internet.

“The song isn’t necessarily a damning indictment of technology. It’s more about pointing to the rapid changes in human connection and asking the question ‘Is this okay?’”

‘These Days’ is Marsicans’ fifth track to be released in 2020 and from one great bear (the Marsican) to The Great Bear, all five feature on their debut album ‘Ursa Major’ which is set for release on August 14th.  The preceding singles ‘Summery In Angus’, 'Sunday', ‘Juliet’ and Can I Stay Here Forever (pt. II) saw continued support for the band across UK and international radio, DSP’s and TV including; Radio X-Xposure playlist support for ‘Juliet’ & ‘Can I Stay Here Forever (pt. II)’ to "Record Of The Week" on BBC Introducing West Yorkshire for ‘Can I Stay Here Forever (pt. II)’ alongside spot plays across BBC Radio 1 and Radio X and A&R Worldwide’s Passport Approved playlist support for ‘Juliet’ and ‘CISHF (pt. II)’. Continued Spotify support by way of; New Music Friday, All New Rock, The Indie List and New Alternative. Deezer; through their Brand New UK and Indie Jukebox playlists and Apple Music support globally through Kebab on the Nightbus. TV support from MTV Rocks, Kerrang TV, BT Sport including a feature on their Weekly Goal Show and syncs on Made In Chelsea.

Due to the cancellation of this year’s SXSW festival Marsicans recorded a live session for BBC Radio 1 as part of their SXSW contingency coverage ‘The BME Sessions’. You can listen back to ‘Juliet’ and ‘Sunday’ HERE
