Indigo Eyes announces new EP ‘Close To You’, out December 4th

Having already impressed us with his previously shared singles ‘Forbidden (With LissA), which went onto be premiered by This Song Is Sick and racked up more than 13k streams during its first week on Spotify, thanks to placements on their New Music Friday Germany playlist, and follow-up offering ‘Close To You (With De Rien)’ which premiered with Wonderland earlier this year, emerging producer Joseph Robson aka Indigo Eyes now returns to announce the details behind his highly-anticipated new EP, also called ‘Close To You’.

Previewed by the new lead single ‘Jaded (With Georgie O’Brien)’, the producer looks to continue his adventures through a hazy world of breezy atmosphere and lo-fi aesthetics. The new single captures the ethereal majesty of his work to date, and delivers a broad and sweeping addition to what is gearing up to be a bold and succinct EP collection from this up-and-coming beatmaker.

Speaking about his new track, he said, "Jaded is definitely the most club-ready track off of the EP. It's the embodiment of everything I love about the more experimental side of house music, which is exactly what I set out to create when I sat down to write it. The whole instrumental was finished in about a day and Georgie absolutely killed it with the hook, she's such a talented writer and knew exactly what my vision for the track was. It was honestly such an amazing experience seeing how quickly it all came together." 

While guest artist Georgie O’Brien added, "Writing jaded just felt so right. It's safe to say we both love this song a huge amount. When I heard the instrumental for the first time I was literally ecstatic. I’m so excited for this one! So proud to be a part of it!”

The new EP ‘Close To You’ is set to feature the previously shared singles ‘Forbidden (With LissA)’, ‘Close To You’ (with De Rien), the newly unveiled ‘Jaded (With Georgie O’Brien)’, and previously unheard cut ‘Higher’.

Speaking about his new collection, Indigo Eyes added, "This EP was the result of finally having the time to sit down in my bedroom at home and make the music I've always wanted to make. I grew up playing the guitar, and so wanted that to be evident across the tracks, but mainly wanted it to reflect the side of electronic music I've been in awe of over the last few years. I honestly can't express how excited I am for this to finally be out after almost a full year of working on it, all the tracks are so special to me now and really represent the type of music that makes me want to make music in the first place, which is what it's all about I guess!"

Indigo Eyes is the alias of 19-year-old electronic artist Joseph Robson from London, England. Starting out with childhood lessons in a number of instruments he gradually became a bedroom producer with a deep fascination in dance music and the UK house scene, with influences among the likes of Disclosure, AlunaGeorge, and SG Lewis.

After first discovering his love for electronic music at the age of 15 when he snuck into a Martin Garrix performance in Ibiza, the now 19-year-old is showing a level of diversity and imagination far beyond his years. Coupling smooth and ethereal tones with shuffled beats and seductive grooves has given him an original and driven style that many are quickly beginning to take notice of.

Following on from this, his production style consists of warm synths and soul-oriented guitar melodies. Being a long time fan of the singer-songwriter duo ‘Oh Wonder,’ a chance encounter with their dog sitter led to an opportunity for him to develop a relationship with the duo and remix ‘Lose It,’ a fan favourite track of theirs, which, in addition to various other remixes and instrumentals, helped Joseph grow an online fan base long before his first commercial release.

Following this, he was then discovered by SG Lewis on an Instagram live in the summer of 2020, in which early demos of his music were premiered to a live audience. This led to a number of collaborative opportunities, along with praise from SG Lewis himself.

Finishing off the year with the release of his debut EP ‘Close To You’, he aims to demonstrate his eclectic sound through a set of four diverse tracks, featuring collaborations from up and coming artists ‘De Rien’ and Georgie O’Brien’ along with the already well established ‘LissA.’
