"Hildur isn’t all about hit-making and high-fiving, she’s also here to talk about progressive equality rights.”

Rising Icelandic pop artist Hildur releases her empowering new single ‘Woman At War’ on April 26th through Anti Fragile Music. A battle cry for equality, it is stirring and emboldened. Listen to ‘Woman At War’ HERE.

Speaking about ‘Woman At War’ Hildur explains, "Woman in War is a song to honour all the strong women I know that have fought many battles and are tired. Tired of always having to put up a fight, tired of putting in all the efforts but not seeing the situation change, tired of having to fight the same fight again and again, tired of being labelled angry when they really are just fighting for equal rights. I had experienced this feeling again and again and I wanted to try to put that exact feeling into a song. However, this song is not about giving up. It has hope. It conveys understanding that this is what the situation looks like right now and it’s ok to be overwhelmed by it and want to give up at times. Because the beautiful thing is that all the woman I know that have hit this wall, me included, they somehow find the strength in them to continue and return fighting strong, again.

'Woman At War' is the follow up to Hildur's recent single '1993', which picked up lots online tastemaker support including, EarmilkThe 405 who said" it’s difficult not to be moved by this confessional anthem"Record of the Day's Track of the Day on International Women’s Day, Song of the Day on The Line of Best Fit to name a few. Both tracks will feature on Hildur’s forthcoming ‘Intuition EP’, which will be released in early summer.  Listen to ‘1993‘ HERE

Having already won Pop Song of the Year (‘I’ll Walk With You’) at the Icelandic Music Awards in 2017 and nominated as Newcomer of the Year in the same year she’s truly one to watch.

Hildur is a multi-faceted rising female pop star from the tiny (yet magnanimous) island country of Iceland. Her single ‘Picture Perfect’ debuted on 6 Spotify New Music Friday playlists: global, USA, Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Denmark and has amassed over 1.5 million streams. As Iceland’s rising pop star, Hildur is more than just a singer. She is also a songwriter (top liner), lyricist and professionally trained classical cellist.

However, don’t expect sweet-as-sugar pop from her. This Scandinavian musician also uses her craft as a platform to spread a message - one of gender equality and positive role models - that she also embodies in life. Hildur’s self-awareness as a woman in the music industry and her need to lead by example for gender equality is noticeable in her music, image and team she chooses to work with. And with this she launches her #TrustYourself campaign. Hildur is a natural storyteller, she embodies it in everything she does. Her life experiences have taught her to trust herself and her intuition and these stories serve as tools to help guide her. Through her experiences she’s learned to trust herself, she’s now calling on fans to share their stories of how they’ve learned to #TrustYourself.
