Gabriella Cilmi releases a brand new track ‘Keep On Keeping’ – a glorious slice of Americana – today, October 4th. The new song is taken from her forthcoming EP ‘The Water’ which is set for release on November 1st, which showcases a more mature and authentic sound from the Australian artist. Speaking about the track Gabriella comments, “This is my daily routine in the form of a song. Came off sounding a bit more like a lament for the undead.”
‘Keep On Keeping’ is the third track from ‘The Water EP’ and follows on from the release of EP title track - the blues tinged single - ‘The Water’ and ‘Ruins’ - a beautiful piece of gilded country-soul.
The 'Sweet About Me' hit-maker made a welcome return earlier this summer with a distinctly different sound. If it feels incredibly natural then that’s because it is – this is her voice, her vision, and her life. Working with her brother Joseph as co-songwriter and Eliot James as producer, the three stripped her music to the core. Her forthcoming new EP is the bravest, most explicitly honest thing Gabriella Cilmi has ever done.
Gabriella Cilmi enjoyed phenomenal success at an incredibly young age. Still a teen when breakout single ‘Sweet About Me’ conquered the globe, the Australian artist was thrust into the glare of the spotlight, enjoying chart success after chart success. Over a decade later, Gabriella has blossomed as an independent artist and having taken things back to their roots, she has found her path, and she intends to see where it leads.
Having sold out her intimate headline show at St. Pancras Old Church on November 7th two months in advance, Gabriella Cilmi recently announced a new London headline show, taking place at Oslo (Hackney) on May 27th, 2020. Tickets go on general sale now here
Speaking about the shows Gabriella says “Can’t wait to play St. Pancras Old Church’ and I’m so happy it’s sold out!! The atmosphere is always beautiful and it’s the perfect venue to showcase the new EP given the blend of country, gospel and soul music that inspired the record. Also super excited to announce I’ll be playing ‘The Oslo’ in Hackney next year in May. So anyone that missed out on tickets to the last gig can hopefully join us then. I’ve seen so many great gigs at this place so looking forward to playing the venue myself, it sounds killer in there!”
